Nearing Dusk

It was a fabulous summer day. We hit the beach - oh the water was just right - not too warm and not too cold. The area of the beach where we were was not crowded, more like deserted. We had the place almost to ourselves - apart from the noisy teens camping behind us.
We were not in a hurry to leave. Hit the parks, playgounds, had ice cream. Wait for the sunset. What is there to hurry for? There's no dinner to cook, there's no washing to pick-up, there's no mortgage life insurance quotes to canvass. We enjoyed the glow of the sun while setting and bought pizza on the way home.

A perfect day for skywatching as well.

Featured Shoes

Really, they're just Jens' thongs that we bought from Manila last June. They're batman so even if they almost not fit him we still put them on to him when we go to the beach or hit the pool.

Can you see the two straps at the back of each shoe, I really think I'm clever by doing that. Jens is not capable of holding thongs in his feet - they need elastic to hold them on. I tried just the one strap and it came off quickly. It's just like thinking out of the box - more like choosing the right colour and size of tiles to fit a narrow bathroom. Now, he likes these little Batman printed shoes.

A Little Bit of That

Your True Passion is Leadership

You feel most alive when you are bringing out the best in people. It brings out the best in you in return. You love to teach others and guide them. You are very patient. Giving back is important to you.You want to make the world a better place, and you know you can't do it alone. You need a team supporting you.For you, there's nothing more satisfying than a group of people working toward a common goal. Especially if you're leading that group.

At some point, I wanted to lead but now - I just wanna be led. I've taken the back seat although - quite a handful passenger actually especially when we are talking of the deal of the day, such as shoes and bags. I suppose I can say, I'm a bit patient now than before. Well, this quiz is for me and my hubby and it all fit us.

Yellow Bird

Please ignore the background and focus on the lovely yellow bird. We were at the market and of all the birds at one stall, I just found this one interesting.

I'm on Camera Critters today.

Charlie Bag Canvas-984-CORCHES-Orange
LouenHide's designs are about achieving synergy in style and function. LouenHide designers, Lou Kendall and Heidi Bailey appreciate that women need a bag that compliments their sense of style while also offering uncompromised functionality. Each bag and accessoryresponds to these fundamental design goals, giving women the opportunity to add something enviable and practical to their accessory collection.

These lovies are definitely what I like for loud bag and shoes. Well, the shoes are not really loud but they matched, right? Oh well, I can afford to buy them now. Question is, can I face my conscience as I have just declared, no spending for the next 5 months? It's not really like insurance (auto insurance quote would be necessary) that I have to prioritise. I have to mull this over, really.

Summer Dresses

Boob Tube Dress In Satin/ Chiffon-Dr858-redyeltyedye

Double Strap Dress, Most Slimming, Sexy-Dr951-candypink

Halter With Silver Ring-Dr787-chocolate

Most of my summer dresses are neutral colours. Well, I haven't really found a nice coloured one that fits me so I end up buying those boring looks. However, I do wish to find something like them. I know, it's easy to find (just like instant life insurance quote)when you frequent the shops but I'm avoiding the shops these days. Trying to cut out my spending, in short. So for now, I'll just oogle on them.

Loud Shoes # 1

When I say loud, I really didn't mean something like Yellow Converse Chuck Taylors. I don't own a pair so it didn't really entered my mind. I admit that it was either me or my sister who owned a pink pair of this sort. I'm now sure it wasn't me. Lol. It's just not me to wear such.

But there are people who wear them comfortably and proudly. I admire them. I'm actually, thinking of buying a loud pair of shoes but they won't be Chuck Taylors. On the other hand, if I'm one of those holding a job in Philly (check out job philadelphia if you're looking for one), I might have some moolah to spare for a pair for myself or my brother. For now, I'm contented with looking at them.

This Is Closer to Home

You are a Dreamer

You tend to have your head in the clouds. You love to be drawn in to a whole other world. You are a sensitive person. You find it easy to be emotionally effected by books. You are a person with a few deep interests. If you're drawn to something, you learn everything about it.You are a person who loves to acquire possessions. You can't resist a sale, and you own a lot of things.

How did they know? Lol. It's truly me. Oh well.

And speaking of possessions, shoes are among them. I know I already own one too many but I still think sometimes that I lack a pair or two for some occasions. Isn't it hoarding or just plain shoeaholic? I think, it's the latter. And lately, although I may say otherwise, I've been hoarding bags as well. Hopefully, it won't reach to a point that I have to keep weight loss program as well.

Keeping Up to Beat

I’m a bit out of tune when it comes to shoes these days. I haven’t checked what are the latest nor have window shopped. You see, I’m planning on curbing my expenses and we all know that the more you window-shop, the more you crave and be tempted to buy a pair or two. I want to feel contentment with what I have but I guess that’ll have to end soon as I have to keep this blog going.

And with keeping up to beat, I might as well check the fast weight loss there is just to be aware of it.

A New Week

We have settled back into a routine after the holidays. There aren’t many changes so it’s not hard. It’s home work home for us. I love it. I know it may sound boring but I feel contented and relaxed.

For now, I’m looking forward to the weekend as it’s going to be a three-day one. A trip to the beach for the Australia Day has been a tradition and it’s something to look forward to. Hopefully, it will be an overcast day so we won’t get sunburnt and eventually have to hunt for the best anti wrinkle cream.

Postcrossing

Today, I experience again a passing inspiration. I was in my fellow bloggers site and I read something about postcrossing. I got interested that I looked it up and signed-in right away. Now, I have one post card to send to Germany.

In this day and age of everything instant, receiving a snail mail is a novelty. A novelty that I dearly appreciate. Sure you can print an email, an e-card but where’s the personal touch in it? I don’t know if it’s just me but I don’t like keeping printed emails and ecards. Printing and keeping recipes are much better viewed.

I have a long time friend in the Philippines who’s been sending me cards ever since I left. She’s just so thoughtful. And like me, she appreciates the snail mail better than email.

I appreciate the internet (what when I’m doing some research on acnezine) but for me it’s not always the easy and nice way – when I’m on my soft-heart side.

Plans for Aussie Day

Since The Tatapilla was born it has become our tradition to go to the beach on Australia Day. It’s just been for 2 years and it has always been on the Sunshine Coast – Mooloolaba.

Usually, we have to leave early to avoid traffic although we know of a back route that doesn’t get crowded as everyone is on the main highway. But getting home still requires more patience as although we try to leave early we are not the only people who do that so chances are the road is already congested.

We live on the bay side – not literally but only less than half an hour drive from the bay. And I thought, this year I’m sure there are some programs on our shire. True enough when I check, there is. So I proposed to Mcj to just go to the nearby beach and actually see the programs and the fireworks rather than driving all the way up (as if we are looking for the best weight loss supplements).

Sacrifice

By Elton John

Ever since I heard this song back 10 years or so ago, I fell in love with it. Back then, I didn’t know what the meaning was all about. I just like the rhythm and melody. I’ve been playing it almost everyday. If I’m going to setup an online backup, this one would definitely be on the list of files that I will include.

On the final note, I hope every man or woman who’s on the point of betraying the trust of their partners would hear this song and do the right thing. Be it a Sacrifice or Not!

Goal for 2010

A couple of years ago, I was really enthusiastic on photography until our much loved DSLR was stolen from the van. It was heart-breaking but we’ve moved on. We have been camera-less for almost 6 months – which was very hard especially if you’re blogging and pregnant – can’t capture the moment when I was on my heaviest.

We decided to buy a cheaper compact camera before the baby arrives – that we don’t want to miss the moments.

But now, I want more. I want a new DSLR. I know this is a big ask, but I really wish for EOS 7D Digital SLR Camera. I think, it’s the aspiring photographer’s ultimate wish.

An 18.0 megapixel Canon-developed CMOS sensor together with Dual DiG!C 4 Image Processors combine to deliver outstanding image quality with fine detail and brilliant reproduction of colour and tones. Features also include 19 point Auto Focus, with an ISO range expandable to an incredible 12,800 and Full High Definition movie recording making the new Canon EOS 7D an essential for the promising enthusiast.

But I can settle for this. Or the same with what was stolen from us. And I will put it in my car as I have insurance (yeah, I am past getting car insurance and life insurance quotes). The van where the camera was stolen was un-insured.

10.1 Megapixels, CMOS sensor
DiG!C III Image Processor
ISO 100-1600, 1⁄4000 second shutter speed.
2.5 inch LCD Display for LiveView
Bonus 4GB SDHC Memory Card (XG4900)

Last Purchase for 2009

When my girlfriends and I met last December, it was a good time for shoes shopping as there was a 50% sale in Nine West. I went in there thinking of buying a bag but ended up buying these.

I also tried all these before deciding to get the pair above as if they’re all pop displays.

They’re definitely good buys – very versatile. I use them for work and leisure. I really take care of them as if they’re fine china. I want them to last until next summer.

Changed

Sort of.

When I saw this quiz, I just need the urge to give it a try. You know, my husband has been calling me a non-conformist most of the times a couple of years after we got married. I haven’t heard that word for the last year or so. I think I have changed – mellowed down somewhat but I still believe I am a true-blue non-conformist.

You Are 57% Non Conformist

You definitely have your freak flag out, and from time to time, you wave it.

You have some pretty strong opinions, and you're not afraid to express them.

For one, I don’t go with fashion. Whatever is comfortable is good for me. I don’t exercise to keep me fit – no ellipticals or sorts at home. I eat whatever I want, which thankfully is not leaning on to sweets. I don’t have a sweet tooth.

I am a non-conformist but a quiet one. I don’t voice out or disagree publicly with somebody. To me, to each her own so let me be and I will let you be. MYOB. Period.
