The Wait

This is the father and son waiting for me while I'm fitting shoes. I bet they were thankful that finally, I found the shoes that I like and I did buy them. We've been to three shops and being picky, I left after ten minutes.

I would love to go shopping on my own - you know, nobody to bug me to "go us" Mummy. :) But we don't have a gps systems to locate each other and we only have one mobile phone. Well, I like them around anyway as I can model my finds to them.

My New Watch

I mentioned in my previous post about the Danish watch. We were not planning to buy me any. But ever since we first hit the shops, I’ve been looking at the displays. I don’t need one as I’ve already got one (infact, my presents to my family are watches) but there are cutsies that I like. I told Mcj, I’ll just buy fake. Yeah.

We were wandering around after coffee one day and spotted a display of Danish watch. Mcj’s ancestors are Danish. He then thought of buying his parents watches. We didn’t decided right there and then. We came back the next day. I was sort of upset because I also want one – I was like a spoiled-rotten child. We came back the next day to get one for me. Yayyyy! I was thinking of getting a different brand but I wasn’t given any choice. I was bought it because of principles. But, hey, I like what I got so I don’t mind.

Despite this pretty little thing, it still sadden me to read stories about people with mesothelioma.

Nice Accom

We are loyal. We stayed at the same accommodation as the previous trips of Mcj to the RP.

We don’t like walking into unknown if there is somewhere that we know what they offer and we are pleased by it.

We don’t mind paying a few more pesos if we know we are getting value for our money. The room boys and almost staff at the hotel know all their guests.

To top it all, we are getting a good bargain. A fair price for a bedroom with QB and a closet, a lounge, a dining area, a kitchen and a toilet and bath (sounds like Outer Banks).

Why else do we have to walk into a typical hostile hotel room?

Change of Heart?

I feel that my obsession to shoes is slowing waning. Or maybe, I’m just curbing my expenses or I’m being sensible now.

Before, I don’t have any bases for buying shoes. If I like them and suit my budget, go. I don’t think over if I have some clothes to match them, if they are comfortable, if they will last. I fancy them, I got to have them.

Now, I’ve changed. I’m practical now (I gather insurance quotes first). I buy shoes as to the comfort they can give me – soft soles, right fit and non-slip/skid, durability – should be leather or something that will last.

The shoes that I recently buy are not really classy and trendy but they look good. And I still keep shoes that will give me extra height and class

We Need New GPS

Perfect! Just when we have booked our holiday to Sydney and planned on driving, our Garmin GPS broke down. Mcj doesn’t know what trigger it to just blow on us. He said, it just turned off by itself and he thought, it’ll go back up again but it won’t. It’s a gift to us so we don’t have the docket to claim for a replacement or warranty repair. We’ve just been using it for almost 4 months.

I reckon, it would be very helpful when we go to Sydney and wander around the street there. Buying maps would be out of the question. It would just delay us. Oh well, we haven’t finalised our itinerary or plans yet. Buying a new GPS would be worth it especially when I’m going to have a driver’s licence and my own car.

On Superannuation

With the GFC, people on the retiring age put their retirement on hold. Investments are growing in a rate like me, real slow if not at all. Hahaha.

Mcj said, his supperannuation might have already gone down because it isn’t earning much and it has to pay for his life insurance premium. So, it means he has to wait few more years than necessary to retire. Hummmm.. and I’ve just started to contribute. I'm just being optimist that the market will recover and annuity contribution will rebound. I still have a long way to go to retirement anyway. :)

Shopping Plans

Let’s talk about shopping again. I know, we’re in GFC (global financial crisis) but we’ve already talked that I’m going shopping in the Philippines. The pants that fit me here cost an arm and a leg. I can buy 6 pair of reasonably priced pants in the Philippines for the price of a pair here. So, I’ll make sure to buy pants for all occasions. I just hope that diet supplements won’t be necessary for them to fit for another year or so until we have our next trip up there.
