Chocolate Shoes

Here's a treat for those of you who loves chocolate and at the same time shoes! This is really fab gift.. but if given one, I won't eat them rather preserve them. Must have transparent fridge or esky. :D

Masterfully combining two of my greatest passions, and two of life's greatest treasures, Gayle Harte of Gayle's Chocolates is obviously some sort of genius for creating these stunning chocolate shoes.

Perfect as a gift for a chocolate lover, or the ideal gift for a shoe-obsessed friend, these stunning Gourmet Chocolate Shoes from Gayle's Chocolates taste as great as they look.

And if you like the way these chocolate shoes look, wait until you get a load of Gayle's Glittering Metallic Mules. Equally fabulous in gold or silver, these chocolate mules are covered with edible luster dust.

The Glittering Metallic Mules

Here's how Gayle's Chocolate evolve. Gayle was born in 1947 and her genetics reveals her passion for chocolate and from then on, she used to hang out in the kitchen and learn about Austrian pastries. In 1950, her first culinary adventure where she made chocolate pudding from scratch. And the rest is history.

How do you care for your shoes?

I, sometimes, do wipe them with tissue/toilet paper after using them but when the going gets tough and I am left for just a little spare time at the end of the day, I just ditch the cleaning but rather stack them up not on my shoe rack of course. I just wash those that need be at the end of the week or sometimes, just throw them all in a bucket full of soap-foaming water. I don't really care if they are washable or not. :D

But, what really is the best way to care for our "investment"? Here are some tips:

Use shoe trees between wearings to help shoes retain their shape.
Let shoes rest on the trees at least 12 hours between wearing.
Clean off dirt after every wear with a soft brush or rag.
Always use a shoehorn for putting on your shoes.
Stop new suedes from "crocking" (rubbing off on clothes) by rubbing vigorously with a towel.
Exotic skins need extra care -- use special cleaners and conditioners.
Use water and stain repellant on suede and nubuck shoes before you wear them. When water stops beading up, respray.

There.. pretty much easy and hassle free.

Shoes Stars Love

You know how you just get obsessed with a certain style or even a specific pair of shoes, and you want to wear them to and with everything?

Well, you're not alone.

In fact, even celebrities with more money than they could ever spend, and stylists to dress them head to toe often find a look and wear it 'til it's worn out.

For a few months last year, Nicole Richie was obviously having a love affair with black peep-toe pumps, and I can't say as I blame her.

A great alternative to basic black pumps, and if you have a nice pedicure, shoes like these make a sexy but versatile addition to your footwear wardrobe.

Check out all her looks in the Nicole Richie Photo Gallery.

Love The Color

Ugg Boots

I first hear of Ugg Boots here in OZ. Wanna know why they call them Ugg? Short for Ugly Boots, actually. They don't really look ugly but they sort of not fashionable as you just usually don them on winter. They're made of leather but fluffy inside. Some have fluffy fringes. You can buy them in trendy colors if you're the sort that matches her shoes with her clothes.

Well, I don't own a pair of these. Sometimes, I reckon I want to have one but when we're at the shop.. I lost interest in them.

When MCJ and I were at the airport last month, we saw this nice Ugg Boots - look beautiful in plan and dull color and durable as well. It's Merino, what can you expect. While I love to have a pair.. the price just doesn't attracts me. Hehehe. I'm a scrooge! Well, I just dont see the practicality of buying a pair of shoes where you can only wear on winter for a whooping $100 (almost). The sales assistant was really accomodating that I was thinking of buying them but on second though.. hummm. Good thing, I find the boots too long for my legs that they hurt my ankles when I tried them on. The ever-friendly assistant took out a different style - shorter one, but they all don't fit me. Thanks goodness! We end up not buying any.

The sales assistant completed the open-toed pump that I was wearing though and asked where did I bought them. Pinas! Where else? :) She said, I could find the size and style that I want back home... but then, we don't have winter!

Well, I end up buying a canvass shoes in Manila and I'll make do with the uber fluffy slippers that I've got for winter.

Shoes For Long Skirts

While there's no doubt that short skirts are sexy, long skirts can be sexy and so much more: romantic, polished, classic, laid-back, or even powerful. But whatever look you're trying to pull together, pairing the wrong shoes with a long skirt can blow the whole effect.

Fortunately, the shoe rules for long skirts are much simpler than you might think. In fact, it's really just a balancing act.

Longer skirts and dresses cover the majority of your body. To create a look that is flowing rather than broken or unbalanced, your footwear will need to accomplish one of the following three things:
Visually become a part of the skirt.
Think of tall boots that are covered by the hemline of the skirt

Add length or height beneath the hemline of the skirt, so that the skirt will seem shorter, or your legs will seem longer.
High heels that show a lot of skin work well for this.

Work with the lines of the skirt to create a look that is balanced.
For example, a chunky wedge heel will work with a fuller skirt, but might be too clunky for a long fitted skirt.

For a closer look at which shoe styles will work best with long skirts and dresses, check out the rest of the photo gallery.

Men's Shoes

MCJ can't wear slip ons as he would have blisters for just a 10-minute walk. The shoes would just keep on rubbing his heels and irritate the skin. Wearing socks doesn't help either. His feet are just simply fussy! So most of the time, he would rather wear thongs/flipflops than close shoes. I sympathise him though so I don't object if he wears them.

Seen these beautiful shoes and chose below for MCJ. I'm not going to buy them, YET! But I am planning to buy him a pair.

Go Bloggerwave

I became a member in Bloggerwave two weeks ago, registered my blog which the approval didn't take that long, made my first post and then the second, third and fourth, and today, I get paid! Yooohooooo! I was surprised and at the same time thrilled when I opened my email this morning and read the message from Bloggerwave confirming the payment they made to my Paypal account. I wasn't really expecting the payment to be that soon! One of the surprises this week that I've got!

Becoming a member in Bloggerwave was so easy, registering your blog and have it approved didn't take much time, getting your posts approve is just like a walk in the park... and payment comes in too quickly! How cool is that? I highly recommend Bloggerwave to those bloggers who wants to get paid.
