Retail Therapy

I reckon, it has been a while since I've been to the shops to buy myself something so while I was at Costco (went to re-fuel), I wandered in.

Of course, I didn't wander far really.  Just stayed in the middle area where all the clothings are.  I bought Dickies shirts that are really good price.  Fifteen bucks for adults and 10 bucks for kids.

Dame Edna-ish

Okay, so I need new glasses.  I mean, the old pair was about 3 years old.  They were giving me headache in the afternoon, is what I thought of course.  Never mind the fact that the heat reflection on the glass window at work in the afternoon despite the aircon is also a bit off-putting.  It's just me, by the way.

So I got new glasses.  Not my usual type but I thought, I'm due for a bit of Dame Edna-ish.

Skirts for Narrow Hips

Is that even correct?  Anyway, I don't really know the term but that is what I am.  I have narrow hips.  I'm still wondering how was I able to give birth to 6.8lbs baby.  :)

Anyway, if you are like me and wants to wear skirt that will flatter your shape, these are the styles that were recommended by google.  Haha.  See, I take advice from google now.

They don't look bad at all.

Facial Hair Removal

It seems that I have been obsessing hair removal recently.  No, I didn't just get hair on my body recently.  I'm not a teenager anymore.  I have been using trusted methods and I have been okay with them.  My curiousity arises due to many methods are there in the market and I though, I am still very naive when it comes to it.

I have been thinking of using wax strips and actually bought a packet today.  I got home, did some reading and found that waxing might cause bumps later on.  That gave me a pause with my plan.  I went back to my trusted method then, tweezing.  Only took 5 minutes, viola!

These are it

the shoes that I am looking for, that's what I am talking about.  I'm crossing my fingers.  I just bought them today for a really bargain price so I have not tried to walk in them for a long distance.  But they seem to be promising.  Soft soles.  Soft upper lining.  And they fit perfectly.  I have to wear them to work this week to test their reliability of being travel shoes.

I quickly duck down to the shops today to buy kitty crystal litter and of course, I couldn't resist dropping by the shoes shop.

Nautical? Summer?

Hmmm.. not that I really like stripes but I do like blue.  When I bought this, there were only one left at the shop.  A few weeks later when I visited the shop again, the shopkeeper said... she wished that she kept one for her self.

it reminds me of sunshine, summer and the beach.  Nautical design you say?  Maybe.  I just love it.

Waxing

so, i can say that i have not gone through waxing in any hairy part of my body.  i have a very low pain threshold - though i have given birth - that i am not sure that it is worth it.

i can put it in my bucket list but not accomplished any time soon, mind you.

anyway, i was curious about brazilian wax.  i mean, really curious.  so i did some reading.

apparently, there's just no privacy when going through brazilian wax.  it is comparable to going to your OB.  hmmm, i suppose it's a small or big price for vanity and hygience.

what to expect?  the technicians, if you may call them that, will dip a wooden stick to the melted wax and lather the area.  when it is dry, i suppose, they peel off the wax by strip.  imagine ripping the bandage off.  the wooden stick must only be dipped once and then discarded.

the hair must at least be a half an inch long or as long as grain of rice - didn't say it was long grain or jasmine.  :)

oh, ask for a hard wax, it was said to be less painful.  have the waxing done regularly - for some 3-4 weeks, some 6 weeks. it all depends on the texture of your hair.

and ask for the name of your technician.  you wouldn't want to bare yourself to different person everytime, do you?

Cherry Red

These are my first pair of red-ish shoes.  And I so love them.  I pair them with anything but not too dark colours.

From what I read so far, you can wear demin shorts or maybe trousers with black jacket.  I suppose, anything that has no bold colours in it will do.

Comfy Shoes

The hunt is on.  With the number of shoes that I own, you may say that I own a pair that are really good for walking a long distance.  You know what I am talking about, right?  I am talking of a pair of shoes that are comfy for going away somewhere, doing tourist-y stuff.  A pair that have padded soles, not too high heels, something that will not rub on my toes.  But nah! Yes, I own flat shoes, yes I own padded soled shoes.  Yes, I own comfy shoes but most of them rub on my toes that I really feel after walking for a long time and distance.  Yes, I do own runners.  I do own sneakers but they are not what I meant.  I meant, stylish shoes.  I've done my research of which shoes to buy so far I have not found it.  I saw some at the chemist, you know those shoes?  I just have to try them on or keep on looking.

For comfort

Due to the size and shape of my feet, it is hard for me to choose and buy shoes. I have very slim but long-ish feet and for some reason the width is not proportion to the length. As evident, I have calluses on my toes which for the past month have been making it uncomfortable to wear closed shoes however soft and comfy they are. Well, I am not entirely blaming the size of my feet.. you'll have to factor in "vanity" for wearing slightly high-heeled pairs. I need excuses to spend money on shoes, so I thought as presents for Mcj's father's day.. I bought 3 pairs of sandals/open-toe shoes. And these are one of my favourites. And my famous last words, these will be the last pair for the year... not ever, that would be sacrilegious. :)
