We Need New GPS

Perfect! Just when we have booked our holiday to Sydney and planned on driving, our Garmin GPS broke down. Mcj doesn’t know what trigger it to just blow on us. He said, it just turned off by itself and he thought, it’ll go back up again but it won’t. It’s a gift to us so we don’t have the docket to claim for a replacement or warranty repair. We’ve just been using it for almost 4 months.

I reckon, it would be very helpful when we go to Sydney and wander around the street there. Buying maps would be out of the question. It would just delay us. Oh well, we haven’t finalised our itinerary or plans yet. Buying a new GPS would be worth it especially when I’m going to have a driver’s licence and my own car.

On Superannuation

With the GFC, people on the retiring age put their retirement on hold. Investments are growing in a rate like me, real slow if not at all. Hahaha.

Mcj said, his supperannuation might have already gone down because it isn’t earning much and it has to pay for his life insurance premium. So, it means he has to wait few more years than necessary to retire. Hummmm.. and I’ve just started to contribute. I'm just being optimist that the market will recover and annuity contribution will rebound. I still have a long way to go to retirement anyway. :)

I Want Them

Rhyme
A beautifully detailed woven casual with an ankle strap. Zero G® technology is lightweight for all-day comfort. Sculpted outsole and beautiful hand-burnished leather.

I want to own a pair of them. I've been looking up of what I'm going to buy in my shopping spree in the Philippines.

I'm going for comfort when I buy my next shoes because of the hilly area where our office is located.

I also want some sleep or maybe a bit of time to check some diet pill reviews.

Shopping Plans

Let’s talk about shopping again. I know, we’re in GFC (global financial crisis) but we’ve already talked that I’m going shopping in the Philippines. The pants that fit me here cost an arm and a leg. I can buy 6 pair of reasonably priced pants in the Philippines for the price of a pair here. So, I’ll make sure to buy pants for all occasions. I just hope that diet supplements won’t be necessary for them to fit for another year or so until we have our next trip up there.

Preparing for the Future

There’s more to me that being a shoe-aholic. Of course! I love shopping and spending but all of that has come to an end or needs curbing as our Little Boy is getting bigger.

I hate to admit this and say out loud but I am a worry-wart. And I found that for me to worry less is for me to know the facts and all the information available there is. What’s in my mind now is Jens’ education. I know it’s a bit early for that but the sooner I know what I need to know, the better we can plan. For some parents, there’s never too early. Some even line-up their kids in the best primary school while they’re still pregnant.

I know, I have to go through lots of hurdles first before proper schooling will hit me hard. There are the extra-curricular activities that will keep Jens busy and happy to think about. Does he want to play piano? Does he want to enrol in swimming? Does he want to play football? Tennis? Cricket? Oh, endless questions. But tackling each one at a time is the best way to deal with it. We can not really know where is Jens fancy lies for now. All we can do is make those things available for him.

Getting Ready

Seeing the flash memory drives opportunity reminds me to burn some photos of Jens for my family back in the Philippines. I haven’t sent any photos to them and it would be nice for them to have a handy memorabilia of my little one. Being oceans apart, means seeing each other less so photos can at the very least abate the longing.

Another thing comes to mind, buying a bigger capacity flash drive for our holiday photos. My SD card isn’t big enough to maybe hold 3 weeks holiday photos. It’s better be ready than sorry, right?

Little Boy's Happy Today

We plan on celebrating Jens 2nd birthday in advance in the Philippines on our holiday. We don’t have many friends here with kids that we can invite to the party. Jens’ 1st was actually spent at the zoo. I haven’t even made first birthday invitations. So being with family back in RP and with so many children in the neighbourhood will give Jens a good idea what birthday party means – fun, fun and more fun.

I’ve been drawing up menus and stuff to buy in Manila for the party. It wouldn’t be a real fancy one with stick to the theme costume and what have yous, but I want to at least put a theme to it. I haven’t decided what yet. I will decide when I am at the shop and see what theme they have the most supplies available.

I haven’t made the birthday invites. That won’t be necessary as invites travel by word of mouth back in my parents’ place.

The 2nd birthday would be a big one for Jens as he will also have a little party at school. Muffins, cupcakes, etc include the list. We might also have a little fun at home on his day.

Online Degree

I learned the other week that one of my officemates goes to University to study a program on Training and Instruction (or something like MS Instruction). He is one of our programmers here and I really salute him to be able to go to school what with all the paper works and encumbrance that go with it while working. Not to mention that we are pretty busy at work lately. He said, he’d been wanting to do it as being a programmer might be boring for him. It’s also a good fallback career. Educator is always needed.

The online Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction will prepare you for continued development as a master teacher in schools or other instructional institutions. Enhance student learning and make significant contributions to your classroom and students. Key components of this program include focus on literacy, diversity, integration of technology and an interdisciplinary perspective in education. This course examines integration of the theories of curriculum and instruction, learning, growth and development, the implementation of technology and research, and the application of assessment into the practice of developing and delivering an effective curriculum for K-12 classrooms, college, and other educational arena.

I remember my days when I was still working in the Philippines and I went back to Uni to get a masters degree. It wasn’t easy as I always had to hurry from work to school in order not to miss the first few minutes of the class. If only online masters degree like the online Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction in St. Xavier was known to me then.

Busy career men and women really benefit on the online degree. You get the same quality of education and in your own time. Just like the online Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction in www.sxuonline.com will prepare you for continued development as a master teacher in schools or other instructional institutions. Enhance student learning and make significant contributions to your classroom and students. Key components of this program include focus on literacy, diversity, integration of technology and an interdisciplinary perspective in education.

Wishing for an IPhone

As much as I claim that I don’t go with fashion or latest trend and at some point I am technologically challenged, there’s still times that I wish I could just give in and buy an Iphone. I can’t justify it even to myself to spend heaps of money for something that is not a necessity or won’t make me feel better all as in ALL the time. But it’s just the stingy in me talking. Hahaha.

But of course, I long to own an Iphone. If only there are generous people out there that will gift it to me this coming Mother’s Day. Don’t count on Mcj as I’ve already told him not to buy Iphone last year. I want somebody who won’t be using our family’s money.

I like Iphone’s features, the slick trend and the look. I love all of it. Maybe, someday I would be able to get intouch with the shopaholic in me again and impulsively buy one. I would do it with my eyes tight shut and of course on sale.
